NI-NL's 2008 New Year's Dinner was addressed by Dutch Foreign Trade Minister Frank Heemskerk during his first visit to the province.
Hillsborough Castle, an 18th Century mansion house which serves as the residence for the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, provided the unique backdrop for the occasion which was hosted by H.E Pim Waldeck, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Not only was this the 1st visit of a Dutch Minister to Northern Ireland but also the largest ever gathering of Dutch - Northern Ireland business partners. Due to the generosity of Aer Lingus in sponsoring flights over 30 Dutch business partners attended.
